The Black Lodrac Workshop

The Black Lodrac Workshop - Creating worlds, a 35-year obsession
Hello, my name is Stéphane Degeilh and the Black Lodrac workshop is a new place for my long creative journey, which will never end.
Since the age of 19, I've spent 33 years in the shadows of printing and communication: graphic designer, layout artist, project manager... Always the one who makes things work, never the one who signs. Throughout this time, I read Tolkien, Fritz Leiber, Walter Gibson, and hundreds of others, while sketching imaginary worlds in my notebooks.

Role-playing games: "The Court of Tatterdemalion" (2024), "The land of bronze : The Dragon war" (2025)

Projects currently being explored: “Atomik Faery” (cyberpunk-faery), “The High Skies” (dark fantasy sky civilization) and others...
Worldbuilding: Illustration and history, my creative addictions for 35 years

My toolbox: 80s-90s: Pencil, tracing paper, technical pen. 2000s: Photoshop, Illustrator. 2025s: Digital painting, generative AI. But the sketchbook remains my best friend.

My philosophy: A coherent world is one where each detail has its reason for being. From geography to cultures, from game systems to narratives, everything must make sense together. It's meticulous work, fueled by decades of fantasy and sci-fi reading, but that's what makes a universe come alive.
